Raul Diaz brings twenty-two years of technical and management experience to Lumidigm where he manages sales and marketing. He is charged with developing strong customer relationships and product platforms.
Prior to joining Lumidigm, Mr. Diaz helped to grow InterVideo (NASDAQ: IVII) from a small privately-held startup with $3 million in revenue in 1999 to a profitable, publicly-traded company with over $74 million in revenues and over 1,000 employees in 2004. As vice president and company officer at InterVideo, Mr. Diaz initially headed up business development, then product marketing, and finally worldwide sales. Previously, he worked as director of marketing at LuxSonor Semiconductors from 1996 to 1998 until the company was sold to Cirrus Logic.
Mr. Diaz spent the majority of his early career in the research and development of multimedia and digital signal processing starting at Matsushita in 1986, and then at STMicroelectronics from 1988 to 1996 and then again from 1998 to 1999. He worked in many engineering positions at STMicroelectronics until he headed up his own research lab focusing on computing architectures and multimedia. As director of this laboratory, he was the inventor of several MPEG-2 video compression patents and led his group in generating a significant portfolio of multimedia patents for STMicroelectronics. Mr. Diaz earned a bachelor of science in electrical engineering from Yale University in 1985.
