|Richard spent his gap year with the apps team at Inmos 1991-92, got a BEng in Information Systems Engineering at Imperial College London, and went to the dark side of software engineering ... in investment banking. Then he saw the light, went back to college, got a MSc in Cognitive Science from Edinburgh, a PhD in Human-Computer Interaction back at Imperial, and became a User Experience Researcher at Google in California. After 5 years of fun there, working on products like Adwords and Chrome, he's now doing freelance UX research consulting in San Francisco.
