Since leaving INMOS in 1987 to start a family, Penny is the mother of four sons, has worked for Bristol University as a Research Associate developing Computer-Assisted Learning modules for dentists and carrying out research for a PhD in Education Technology (degree awarded August 2005). She also ended up spending two years working for the University the West of England as a Staff Development Co-coordinator, concentrating on training for staff involved in Working with Industry. Currently she is self-employed, working on a variety of short-term projects, including developing elearning material for the Royal College of Surgeons.
